Sleep training can seem overwhelming.
Sleep training depends on 4 key factors.
- Feeds
- Is the baby full? Is that baby hungry?
- How long ago di the baby eat before sleeping?
- Temperature of the room
- Is the room hot or cold.
- Take note of the temperature to ensure that the baby is comfortable.
- Sleep patterns
- When last did the baby sleep
- How long has the baby been awake for? This is called awake window period.
Awake window is the required time the baby stays awake between naps/ sleeps.
It is dependent on age.
- Stimulation
- Appropriate stimulation based on the baby’s age
